“I try to photograph each individual with the heart of a French Humanist Photographer and the precision of a Swiss watch.”
Hadrien JeanRichard
About me
Hadrien JeanRichard is a freelance reportage, documentary and portrait photographer based in Zurich, Switzerland.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communications in Switzerland, Hadrien pursued a career in investment banking. He eventually left the industry to follow his passion for photography and storytelling.
In 2016, early in his photographic career, Hadrien met renowned documentary photographer Peter Turnley, who became a close friend and mentor. Peter continues to have a lasting influence on his photographic approach: close, personal and respectful, guided by a sense of story and composition and, above all, a deep interest in the human condition.
Hadrien’s work is rooted in his ability to connect with the people he photographs. Through these connections, he seeks to create images that convey the emotions, relationships and everyday experiences that shape our lives.
He is currently developing a long-term documentary project in Venice, exploring the city through the daily lives of its inhabitants. Through repeated visits and relationships built over time, he documents artisans at work, local traditions and everyday encounters, creating an intimate portrait of the people who call Venice home.
Hadrien holds Swiss and French nationality and speaks English, German, Swiss German, French and Spanish.
He is an active member of the OPC – Overseas Press Club of America.
